The entire place does look like it used to be someone's house and was converted to a museum. It all adds to the experience. There is a gift shop, and they do sell limited food. Very interesting place to visit with lots of little tidbits to really sink your teeth into. I'd recommend bringing some Wellies - or wearing shoes you don't necessarily mind getting covered in mud, if you have the desire to walk in the trenches. There are a number of tunnels you can walk in and through, and it might be an idea to bring a torch, or use the flashlight feature on your phone.

Excellent museum, defo worth a visit. Quite the collection of battlefield photographs in old wooden viewing boxes, some quite graphic but a welcome representation nonetheless. An interesting trench layout behind the building which gives a feel of how things would have been all those years ago.

Best museum I’ve been to here. It is authentic and feels as such. Hope for rain when you go for an even more authentic experience. What a treasure. It is literally a piece of history. If you have to choose a museum ... this is the one.

Great to visit an original feature, not commercialised and excellent value for money. Great to walk through the original trenches imagining as you walked, being able to walk through the tunnels and view all the exhibits in the museum. Let’s hope never to be seen again.

Absolutely incredible and a must for you to bring the children

A bit of conservation and maintainence needed in both the museum and trenches, but still a fun family experience.

The privately owned and run museum is a bit of a tourist trap. Teaming with coach loads of people, many of them youngsters letting off steam. However it's popular with many visitors, if not me. Try following the road a little further to the Mount Sorel memorial for some great views over the long gone battle fields.
