Did the new volunteer orientation last week and came in for my first day as a volunteer two days later. This place seems to be run like a very tight ship. They have an OR, nursery and what I would call a « general medical unit » along with an outdoor area to acclimate the animals prior to release. The quality of the animal accommodations and their diets are excellent. Everything is clean and organized and everyone truly seems to care about the animals they are helping. Even the animals who come in mortally injured are handled gently and respectfully. I am very very impressed. Do consider volunteering, if you can, or donating money or supplies if you can’t volunteer. And definitely keep them in mind if you find a bird or mammal that is orphaned or injured. Check their website for details on which critters they accept and how you can help out.
