Not a very big museum but if you are interested in local history I recommend it. They have interesting temporary exhibitions too. If you are lucky you can catch a day when the entry is completely free, like we did. The day we were there was a special event for students who held their own performances in different parts of the museum. It was very extra, we received temporary tattoos of some artworks in the museum. Good to see that the museum is open to students and youth spicing up things.

Formerly an infirmary run by a convent, in its original building. Very interesting, well presented, with good historical and descriptive information. Fascinating museum of some aspects of life in Lille. I would probably have given this five stars if I had seen the whole place, but a couple of areas were closed for works.

Worth a visit, if you appreciate middle age art

Interesting ancient building, with on its walls a vast collection of Delft blue tiles: thousands of them, and all different!

This calm and rather beautiful museum showing the interior of an early-modern nunnery and hospital gives, a, good introduction to the lives of its inhabitants. It also, however, provides a very interesting insight into the changing social life of Lille in this period. Recommended.

Surprised to find the portrait of Philip the Good that is also on the cover of De Bourgondiërs by Jan van Loo. Also the portraits of his father and grandfather who were also dukes of Burgundy. Also impressive was the exhibition of modern Mexican art.
