This place was amazing. We went on Sunday and had the prix fixe menu. The starter with fancy breads and various cheeses, pickled vegetable, terrine and hummus. This was a delicious way to start the meal that left every eager for more. The main course was either pork or mushroom porridge. The pork was tender and flavorful with a crispy skin. The porridge looked good but I did not get to taste it. The caramelized Brussel sprouts with the pork was amazing and the pickled onion complimented it all well. The side of corn with mushrooms was spicy and creamy and scrumptious as well. Finally we had cake with grape sorbet and caramelized white chocolate. The sorbet outshines the rest of the dish and was amazingly fresh and flavorful. The chocolate was creamy and wasn't overwhelming. I would definitely come back. The wait staff was quick and friendly. Decor was beautiful.

Recommended by our hotel at Jack London Square. I had the Gumbo- amazing! Not many restaurants can get it right - but they did. My boyfriend had the steak and eggs Benedict - with a request for the steak be prepared rare and it was perfect decor. The music was great too! Highly recommended!

Really great staff, attentive, chatty and completely knowledgeable about the menus. They had some really interesting and delicious takes on traditional sides. They make a fantastic Manhattan! Bone Marrow was fantastic! Lamb Shank was perfect. The space is smallish but not noisy and not crowded. It is a bit pricey but I think it was worth it. I will definitely be back.
We were a little worried when the host took a while to show up, then we looked askance at what appeared to be a limited menu. However, the minute the first appetizer hit the table, we became zealous converts. You haven't had carmelized Brussels sprouts until you've had Haven's brushed in their house made anchovy condiment. Salted cod fritters? Mouthwatering. I had their beef with leeks and my girlfriend had the smoked trout. This food was so spectacular it permanently altered the chemistry of our brains. I think I have undiscovered superpowers now. Our server was an awesome food geek who took his time explaining how our meals were prepared and went out of his way to answer our myriad questions. Top flight dining experience. Don't miss it.
Walking up the atmosphere looks warm and inviting. Once we walked in we waited a little long to be greeted and then asked to sit at the bar overlooking the kitchen (really cool). Our server seemed kinda new but nice. Some of our food was ok, like the soup we had that night, while other food was amazing like the fish we had. There just seemed to be a lack of polish on most things that was holding Haven back. Overall we may visit again however there are some many other great restaurants for the price in the Bay.
As with Plum, the drinks are exquisite. The food is hit or miss. I've had some items that were incredible and others that were pretty lackluster. Ask lots of questions, order very carefully. They use great local and organic ingredients. I think it's one of the better places in Jack London and I'm likely to try one more time... If it doesn't deliver, may have to downgrade to 3 stars.
This was one of my most favorite places to eat when it opened. After the change of chefs i can say that it is still a good place to go. I like how they are doing the new menu structure so you get to try everything.
