This is an excellent technique focused ballet academy. My two children have been taking here for more than five years. What has always impressed me is that all of the classes have been taught by professional ballet dancers. They have either had careers and are now retired or are currently part of companies. They have all spent their entire lives training and come from incredible training backgrounds. My dancers are still young but have a wonderful understanding of ballet fundamentals and body mechanics. Everything is done in a way that gives the dancers incredible technique while protecting their bodies from injury by making sure they can properly execute form before advancing on to other things. I have made friends at the studio with parents who have older dancers and when these dancers go to intensives at other studios or with large, reputable companies, what is always said about dancers from Hathaway is that they can tell they have been getting excellent training in their technique. This is absolutely the place to go if you want a well-trained dancer. Former students of the Hathaways have gone on to dance at prestigious dance academies, dance companies, have won awards, been part of incredible performances, had wonderful dance career opportunities available to them, and some now even run their own acclaimed dance programs. They are a true testimonial to the academy.

It is a decent ballet school. Never had any problem with the administration at all. They just do not have any minority representation at the school.....at all. It is really really important for minority kids to be able to see themselves in situations like this.....meaning they need to see people that look like them, even if it’s just a couple of people. I could tell that it was starting to affect my daughter so i took her out and found a more diverse ballet school for her to attend.

We couldn't say enough good words to express how much we love this school. It's been exactly 3 years since we walked into Hathaway academy just from driving by. (How lucky!) With the help of Mrs.Linda, amazing teachers and talented students past 3 years was full of fun, excitement, new learning experience, new skills for my daughter and made us impressed with how much she progressed throughout the years! We are looking forward to many more years with Hathaway academy and would recommend this school for anyone who loves dance.

Good place if you need a babysitter for an hour. No real dance teaching. I have been looking at classes of at least 4 different ages and levels. Teachers do not correct, the girls cannot hold hands, heads, or back properly. It was a poor excuse for ballet dancing... I wish I could write otherwise. If you want your daughter dance ballet, definitely look elsewhere!
