In regards to Fawn Bridges’ review below (week of 1/10-16?), there must have been some mix up. The Halfway House is certainly not a fast food restaurant and does not specialize in French fries. It’s really not fair to judge them if you are only going to order fries and especially not when the Governor has disallowed dine-in dining. The Halfway House is my hiking group, The Mountain View Hikers, and my favorite restaurant on Hood Canal. The food is delicious, the cobblers & pies amazing and the staff are very friendly. Two friends and I hope to dine there this Saturday.

This little place only has carry out options. You are allowed to go in and pick it up though. It takes quite awhile. I waited 20 min just for an order of fries. I will not be going back. They also do not have clear instructions on what to do. So we ended up just sitting in the car confused for a few moments as well. Not a place id recommend right now.
My travels and recent moving adventure has brought me to this little town of Brinnon, WA. Here at the \Halfway House Restaurant\ it's definitely the charm and feel of a Mom and Pop kind of restaurant! I've had the pleasure of visiting before my move, many a years ago, so knew of this quaint establishment! However, back then it didn't quite have the charm and appeal it has now. Due to the worlds current standstill, this little place has had a very nice facelift! What was once visibly dull and a bit tattered is now inviting, cute and freshly painted walls with ocean sea blue and marine grey accents! Very charming and quaint! For tonight's dinner I'm having a Tuna melt! The tuna melt was delicious! Tuna mixture wasn't overly wet and the extra swiss cheese melted to perfection, and the fries were cooked to a light crispness on the outside, but tender inside! DELICIOUS!!! Accompanied by an Angry Orchard, which top it off nicely!

I got good service here, but the food was mixed. I did take out. Hamburger was really good. Cod and chips basket was not. The fish was very \fishy\ tasting. How it gets when it isn't fresh. It was disappointing because the breading was good and the fish was cooked just right. The tartar sauce was very good too. But the cod itself tasted like it had been around a tad too long. I could not eat that.
