Small customs station at the border between Switzerland and Italy. I have been using it for decades whenever there is a long queue at the bigger stations on the motorway or at Ponte Chiasso. There is hardly ever a queue, here; and I have never been stopped. Sometimes there is a border patrol a few hundred yards inside Switzerland, and they will stop you and check; but most times you just drive by. And even when they do stop you, they are always kind and respectful (probably because I never did anything illegal; I suppose that if they should catch you with illegal contraband, they would be much less kind, but I have no personal experience on that :D ) BTW, if you do have goods to declare, this is not the right place to go. As said, the station is unmanned most of the time; so if you need customs service, you want to go to the two bigger stations. And it shuts at night, so if you're late, you have to go to the other stations anyway.
