What a fantastic museum! This 18-century house is a hidden gem in the city center, unraveling the story of the past as you go through the chambers (and the are many of them). It's a fabulous place that you want to keep exploring for hours on end. Make sure you go downstairs to discover the cellars! I wish it were open more often, and that more people knew about this pearl!

One of the best museums to visit in Ghent. This house-museum may not be very big (about 10 rooms to visit) but it is in perfect condition, maintaining all the luxury it used to have in the past. Beautiful items, ceilings, furniture, baroque atmosphere etc.And all these for free! (Of course you can make a small donation in a box they have, which i suppose would be very useful for them). There are also guided tours on Fridays and Saturdays which you need to pay for, but it will be for free of you have the 48/72hrs Ghent city card.

Nice old historical house. Free donation. Only open Friday to Sunday afternoon. No on site parking. Allow for 30 minutes. Don't skip the cellars.

This is really worth a visit. It is in fact not a museum. It takes you to an imaginary visit in one of Gent's most noble families' home. You see their magnificent private rooms, dressed tables, made beds etc. It is like visiting friends. The parquet in the ballroom is breathtaking. Visit is free.

The patrician house/ palace gives good insight on how life was for the people who were well off in those days. Interesting place to visit
