Place above the village with a nice view. Some old canons on old wooden transport bars there. Not very well preserved or maintained. Nothing special at all beside the view.
I give it 4 star, only because it looks very abandoned and since it is an old small fort from the XVII it should be more cared for. It has an amazing view all over Faial and even Ponta de São Lourenço, quiet and beautiful place. It needs some info about it so people can know more about our history and what this places were built for.
It is a joke compared with the true and well preserved fortress of the most important places in the world but surely quite significant in its time.
No point to go there.

Always a nice place to visit with a good views out to the ocean. Old cannons and fortifications show how the area was defended in the good old days
