A very nice place to see beautiful fruits and vegetables. A typical “market for tourists”. I felt like the prices were super high and I didn’t see any locals shopping there. I would recommend just taking a stroll there to experience the place.

Fruit stands is a must! Is possible to taste different exotic fruits! Fish market is also interesting. And beautiful flowers everywhere

Nice place, but unfortunately if you look like a tourist - everyone wearing shorts and t-shirt in January, most of sellers\jumping\ on you and try to sell you overpriced fruits and veggies. Almost impossible just walk around, and watch all super fresh fruit and veggies, because of...just go not far away from there in frutaria shop, where locals are shopping

Definitely worth a visit, but beware, some sellers are pushy, especially passion fruit. You can get deals but you need to look closely. Just take your time and don’t let anyone rush you. Quality of the produce can be outstanding but not everything is local, make sure to check that it’s actually from the island if that’s what you’re after. There is a market in Ribeira Brava that is beautiful and much less touristy.

Beautiful experience even if you don’t buy nothing. Teas, exotic fruit and personally the best flower and plant stand in the Island.

It is a popular place for tourists. Be careful with the price of the fruits. The vendors offer tasting and are very persuasive. Just try the fruits but do not buy. The prices are too high and the quality you will get is different from the one you tasted.

I can only repeat what others have written: only look, then buy in a normal, large supermarket. Fruit sellers add sugar to make it taste better, they put additional fruit into your bag to make the weight go up, and the prices are 10 times (no kidding) the normal price of the fruit. Do not buy here!!!

Worth a look around to taste various fruits and have them explained but don't buy from here, it's 10times the price as elsewhere. Souvenir shops are good though and far cheaper than duty free
