A truly awesome area for any Megalithomaniac Long round, disk, saucer barrows galore. Holy springs, chalk carvings, forts and so much more. Relatively easy walk from the National Trust car park up hill to the horse and the castle site. Very windy when I visited but well worth it for the views. 360 visibility from top you can see the Chiltern hills far off in the distance. Definitely worth a visit for an hour or so or as part of a longer Ridgeway walk.
3,000 years of history and stunning 360 degree views of the English countryside. Great place for a picnic, fly a kite, walk the dog or just sit and stare!
Took my Daughter-in-law & granddaughters there for a nice walk & a picnic, stunning scenery & very enjoyable, will be back with the rest if the family soon i hope, only downside no toilets, didn't stop our enjoyment tho.
