What a beautiful part of our world. The views are breath taking and the people who live and work here are blessed. Since we were in a rental vehicle we stopped where the pavement did but from what I've seen there's much more to see.

A tough hike on a gravel road to the highest point of Panama. I wouldn't recommend it if your out of shape. It took us 6h to get to the top, but if your in good shape you can make it in 4-5h. The hike is not technically difficoult but it's a bit annoying since it's only a gravel road, no nature paths. Coming down took us approx. 3,5h. I recommend doing the nighttime hike, the sunrise was really beautiful. It gets cold at the top, remember to pack warm clothes. I toon 3l of water, that was enough for me.

You can park you car just before the entrance. Took 5 hour to climb in a nice trail. Try to be there for sunrise! We also took a jeep to go down after for a ridiculus 20/each.

Very nice place for hiking. In Boquete look for "Bajo Mono" mini bus to take you to Barú entrance, there are 13km from the entrance to the summit, it takes about 4 hours to get the summit and 45 thousand steps the whole way. Be prepared for the rain. You'll have to walk about a mile from the entrance to get local transportation to Boquete. On the summit you'll find two options to get down, "Boquete" same way you just used, and "Volcan" an small-town to the other side of the mountain and closer to Costa Rica, this other way is just 7km long, but it is a little more difficult, and Volcan side entrance it is about 3 miles away to the place you can get transportation

Beautiful area at the base of Volcan Baru. Beautiful and challenging hike up the volcano.

Bring enough water, and if you are not sure of your body performance, bring stuff to lit a bonfire, low temperatures plus no movement could be dangerous or deadly at night.

Hard trail and not very pleasant to wak since it is full with rocks and used by 4x4. Anyway after a 6h night walk the felling and the sunset was amazing. Totally worth it if you're not afraid to Walk 10 to 12 hours.

I hiked to the top in daytime due to time constraints and desire to sleep. The peak gathers clouds in late morning, so sunrise really is the best time for a view. As an avid hiker from colorado, it took me 3.5 hours to summit, 30 minute peaknic, 2.5 hour descent. Lots of loose footing caused slipping/tripping, so be careful especially while sluggishly tired or on the way down. The road up is decently scenic but a road nonetheless, the cloudy view wasnt bad cause its fun to be above the clouds!
