It started off fine with the the greeters and Covid checkers at the ER entrance. But try lack of concern for a high school athlete in a ton of pain from a possible shoulder dislocation was terrible. No sense of urgency. And hardly anyone in the ER. Triage seemed to lack knowledge of how to help. The ladies in the X-ray technicians were friendly. I ended up taking my son elsewhere to be seen after waiting an hour. Not going to come back or recommend.

Useless, Kidney infection sat for almost 4 hours. Everyone in the ER seen before me even after I came in, because the normal person doesn't have a job to go to or anything to pay their bloated bills. Charge nurse told me I was un-important and blew me off. No help, hasn't changed in 30 years, isn't going to change in the next 30 years.

Nurses were nice and worked quickly. Unfortunately my x ray technician asked more questions than the Doctor. He barely touched me with his stethoscope, then told me from the door way I dont have pneumonia and was sent home with an inhaler. A week and a half later, I was told by my Primary care doctor that I had bronchitis and pleurisy. My husband had to miss 2 weeks of work without pay to take care of our child while I was stuck in bed barely able to breathe. If he had taken a few professional seconds I would have been back on my feet sooner. I will take the chance and travel to Gettysburg for emergencies in the future.

Literally the worst experience I have had in an ER. Took my son in who dislocated his shoulder during a basketball game and the school therapist couldn’t get it back in. He was in severe pain. We sat in the waiting room for 20 min before he was taken back to triage. The triage nurse tried to help but wasn’t in any hurry and had to make several calls to find a doctor and get permission to give my son some meds for the pain. The meds didn’t help at all. They took X-Rays of his shoulder and then took him back out to the waiting room to wait. All this time his shoulder is dislocated and he is in pain. We sat another 10 minutes before we left and drove 25 min. to the Gettysburg ER where they got him right in with an IV to settle the pain and immediately to X-Rays. I am sure we would still be sitting in the waiting room at Hanover....we will never go back to that hospital.

Arived 9:41pm went back to a room at 10:18pm seen by nurse at approximately 10:25pm for just a breif moment told we would have a small wait we chose to leave at 11:45pm ish.... went for my almost 3 year old who was having was an allergic reaction. We went somewhere else.... nurses felt she was palying when it was really my child being anxious and tired. My child asked to have some one see them because they wanted to go home. We will choose to take our child somewhere else in an emergency even though all other hospitals are further away from us. While staff was not rude i will not recommend anyone to take their child there! I understand that they have to see the worst patients first but they didnt try to see them or do any kind of test to figure out what was happening nor giving my child any relief!
