The Ground Below

Great place to visit with the family for walks. It’s a bit hilly, well a lot hilly but it has good parking, a kids play area, a lake at the bottom and lots of grassed area to walk around on as well as paths around the perimeter of the park. The hall is part of the attraction but has restrictions in place currently so visit the official website for information on this being open to the public. There is a cafe on site too.

A wonderful place to take a walk. A beautiful lake, filled with waterfowl. The grounds are excellently maintained and most areas suitable for wheelchairs and buggies. Before lockdown the cafe was open which served homemade produce and a fantastic selection of beverages. The cafe is closed but the lovely staff are still serving takeaway drinks etc. Well worth a visit. Highly recommended.

Lovely walk round lake and house, all on tarmac path. Coffee shop open. Lovely morning or afternoon out for all the family. Children's play park with lots of space.

Pay to park. Kids park is basic and oftenly the hang out place for local teenagers (usual lighter burns on the equipment). Your not getting into the hall, and to most people it's just a stack of stone for you to walk around. Cafe is good . Flowers in garden during summer are nice. Nice place for a Sunday afternoon post meal walk with dog. Most people you see are families with tiny dogs . Would I travel to visit here - no, not really.
