One of the best ancient cities. It’s a bit far away from city center but it’s worth it. Two theaters, two harbors and many temple. Must see

I have to say that the historical area is not amazing if I compare with Ephesus but history was absolutely amazing in there that called Pompeii of knidos at the time. Come here about 3pm and first you can visit the area then you can swim then you can see the sunset. Don't forget swimsuits, towels, sunglasses and sunscreen. You can swim where you want and see the sunset then go back.

Superb ruins of a major ancient city which started over 3000 years ago. Not easy to access but the road is OK. Otherwise you'll come in by boat. It's fame came about because it had a medical school, and the first statue of a naked woman: Aphrodite. Absolutely recommended.

Knidos was a rich and famous city of Classical Era world that was the home for Mathematician Eudoksus, doctor Euryphon, famous painter Polygnotos and architect of The Lighthouse of Alexandria, Sostratos. The cith is right where the Aegean Sea meets the Mediterranean Sea. It has harbors on each coast; northern one for military use and bigger souther one was for trade purposes. The sun dial which Eudoksus made can still be visible at site. Remember to bring your wine and watch the fascinating sunset on the hills.

Knidos or Cnidus[1][2] (/ˈnaɪdəs/; Greek: Κνίδος, Ancient: [knídos], Modern: [ˈkniðos]) was a Greek city of ancient Caria and part of the Dorian Hexapolis, in south-western Asia Minor, modern-day Turkey. It was situated on the Datça peninsula, which forms the southern side of the Sinus Ceramicus, now known as Gulf of Gökova. By the 4th century BC, Knidos was located at the site of modern Tekir, opposite Triopion Island. But earlier, it was probably at the site of modern Datça (at the half-way point of the peninsula).

Wonderful place. 50 minutes drive from datça city. The road is good but very tricky. Parking is free. There is a musuem, entry 14 tl. They dont allow entry without a mask. Mask is important. Once inside, 1 -2 hours required to roam around. Preferebly to go around sunset to see the sunset but the road on the way back can be dark and tricky. There is a restaurant. Ok place for kids. The view is amazing. Not suitable for bathing though. Rocky water.
