An Italian neoclassical national monument built over the tomb of the poet Dante Alighieri. It is sited next to the Basilica of San Francesco in central Ravenna. A quiet place where you want to find more about the poet and to be more closer to God. The feeling is good.
It was amazing to visit this small tomb which is now seems to be on a side street in this beautiful ancient, and historic mosaic city of Ravenna. Couldn't help thinking of Dante's inferno, here he stills lays in state after all these years. Folks from his time zone/era did a nice job creating this final resting place for his remains, the rest of them slipping off into oblivion. It was quite busy the day we were here and would assume it to be that way on most days since it is quite small. But everybody gets their town to pay your respects.
