Probably the coolest maritime museum I've been to. From ancient clay vessels storing food, oil, and wine to whitehead torpedoes and intricate treasure chests with clockwork mechanisms. Friendly, informative staff too who are really passionate
Great museum for everyone who wants to know something about marine history of Split or Croatia
Nice little museum, features torpedos, tribute to homeland war and amphoras and other sea related items. Some of the exhibits are in english. Nice view from the top of the fortress that it sits on
Small but very fun and packed with history.
Costs 15 kuna and it's wonderfull
As we have long coast and maritime tradition I am expecting much more from the maritime museum indeed. Location is excellent in the fortress Gripe but museum should be renovated with much more to show which we surely have. Never the less, you are to visit it.
Good value for money, lots of exhibitions and English signage. Enjoyable half hour not far from the City Centre.
