CAFB is a small base but is high quality. Every single person I've interacted with has been professional, friendly and very helpful. While living in MS for over 3 years, I enjoyed visiting the base, going the gym, shopping at the Exchange and Commissary. The medical clinic is top notch with friendly and attentive staff. Every time I've been, I was taken back to a room within 10 minutes of being there. If only the civilian clinics could learn to do this, it would be great! I made many friends among the workers there and miss their smiling faces since moving to Alabama. I go back each time I'm back in Columbus.

The most relaxed place to work. You are never assigned more people to supervise than you can handle. Plus, the golfing is just great.

Great place to work and they have quite a few amenities for a secluded location. Outdoor Rec will outfit you for the weekend, golf or Skeet range will let you blow off steam from the students trying to kill you over the week, and if those three fail you can always drown your sorrows at the renovated Club! Additional Amenities: - Outdoor Rec -- Outdoor gear -- Campers -- BBQ Pit & Cooler -- Bounce Houses - Commissary/BX/Shoppette - Gas Station - Car Wash - Bowling Alley - Wood Shop -- Needs expanded hours -- Or a check out process so you can work without supervision - Skeet Shooting Range - Base Lake - Hunting Areas (archery & shotgun) - Equestrian Center (no hunting)

Stationed there in the 70's. We said farewell to some good pilots being trained there. Sadly they were the Royal Iranian Air force and were locked down and shipped back to Iran when the Ayatollah took over. except for one. His wife was within a couple weeks of delivering a baby. He and she were allowed to stay until she delivered and the baby could travel. A better side of our base Commander, a full bird whose name eludes me.
