Very friendly staff of the museum with an interesting weapon collection and a wonderfully restored old Venetian mansion. Lots of historic information which the kids loved.

A very interesting visit to the military museum, which, btw, where free at the time of our visit. Outside the museum you can see some of the bigger vehicles used en the Crete army, for example the Huey which are still operational today. Inside the museum a lot if different equipment is shown and described. There is also a small historical stories about the defence of Greek/Crete in WW2 and to smaller extend stories back to WW1. When we entered the museum we got the offer that one of the veterans supervising could give a tour, we kindly declined the offer, but it was a nice offer.
Very Nice place and a great story about the place defently wort a visit
Small but will worth a visit.
Nice little museum detailing the Battle of Crete in 1941 and other Greek military campaigns.
A great effort by the HEL Army. Dedicated mostly to WWII and Balkan War The building was granted by the locals to the Greek Army in 1997 and is home to military and war-related exhibits that cover a wide chronological range. The items include weapons, uniforms, medals and military equipment from the Venetian era, the Hellenic Revolution of 1821, the Macedonian Liberation Wars, the World War II etc.
This was an very chilled and respectful place to wound around. We recommend going at the time the guided tours are on as this gives you a better understanding as the the full story.
Interesting museum detailing the occupation of Crete with various exhibits of military uniforms.Lovely location .Worth a look. We went via the little yellow train.
