5 entry. Excellent exhibits throughout the gaol in cells and offices. Volunteer (Peter) was wonderfully knowledgeable about the building and the whole barracks history. Fascinating to walk among the historic barrack buildings (still operating) afterwards.
This place was one of my favourites. It's the oldest working barracks in Australia and has a full museum on both of the wars and history of Australia that they don't teach in school. All of the staff were amazing and very helpful.
Had a spare hour on a Saturday afternoon and decided to drop in to the Army Museum of Tasmania at Anglesea Barracks in Hobart. For any history buffs this is a must. The displays are spread out throughout the individual cells inside the old military jail. It is all tastefully done and each cell holds a display of the different time periods for military operations for colonial troops in the 1800's, Tasmania militia and Australian forces deployed overseas. All this sits inside Anglesea Barracks which are the oldest military barracks in Australia. The hold place "reeks" of history. Must do.

So glad we got to visit here my family and I really enjoyed the day, We were really happy with the information of the history given to us, lovely people around to talk to.
