I was assessed for laser eye surgery a couple of weeks ago and wanted time to reflect on my experience before posting a review. I was welcomed politely and when I introduced myself was asked to go to the waiting area and fill out a form. My initial assessment followed, then a short wait and a more thorough set of tests. The common theme throughout was that with the five machines I placed my forehead and chin on, were not cleaned in my presence and no mention was made as to them being cleaned. I found this disappointing and not good practice. There was also an overwhelming desire to secure an appointment and ask me to commit to the procedure that was recommended (just over 6300). I said I needed time to think about things and was then told that there were appointments the following week. It felt very high-pressure and not professional at all. The consultation was free so the only thing I gave up was my time. Not a particularly enjoyable experience to be honest. The staff were polite and Rachel who did my thorough eye examination was very good - but come on, drop the high-pressure nonsense and allow customers to digest the information they have and assess if they can afford it and are happy to proceed. I received three subsequent e-mail all bombarding me with the way to proceed and book appointments. You have lost me as a potential customer, this is not the way I expect to be treated. I fed all of this back to a central team via a follow-up telephone call.
