Dr. Malitz stayed on his phone while doing my 7 year old daughter's eye exam making her incredibly uncomfortable. He seemed frustrated by her inability to answer his questions. Finally, when he got off the phone and spoke to me he began explaining how he should call CPS on me for allowing my daughter to be without glasses. I explained that her optometrist stated she didn't need them. Never having vision problems I simply didn't know the difference, so I asked. He replied by waving his hand towards the other room stating, \All the thousands of dollars of equipment in there.\ I then found an ophthalmologist who took took his time, spent hours with me discussing my daughter's special case, non-neurological nystagmus. He confirmed what the optometrist had said, but referred me to a specialist in Louisville. The specialist agreed, glasses were not necessarily helpful. My ophthalmologist and I tried many different types of glasses and none really did any good so she went without. I am not a bad mother and shouldn't have been made to feel like one due to his lack of knowledge in this specific area. My daughter could not answer his questions because she could not tell a difference and... she was 7. He was incredibly arrogant and condescending. I hope I am not correct in the assumption that he treats people differently based on their economical status. To be fair, this happened many years ago. I hope his bedside manor has changed since then, but I see many reviews where it seems even as of late he has people leaving his office in tears. He had no right to treat my daughter or I that way due to my economic status at that time and/or his lack of knowledge about my daughter's condition.

I had a Clear Lens Replacement a few years ago. Through out my life I was considered blind as a bat! It was utterly amazing the change I received after my procedure. It was a miracle and it changed my life! I could actually wake up in the morning and not need my glasses or contacts. I reached for my glasses for a very long time each morning after my procedure, pure habit That was all I knew my whole life. I owe this to Dr. Malitz! I would highly recommend to anyone that is looking to be able to wake up each morning and see without wearing thick lense glasses or contacts. Thank you so very much Dr. Malitz for giving me the gift of being able to see !! His staff is outstanding and always so nice.
