We certainly enjoyed our visit to Baxter’s American Grille. Drinks were served quickly and correctly. Food was very good value for the price. Drake was pleasant and efficient. His personality added to our experience.

I’ve been here twice since the restrictions are slowly lifting here in Champaign Illinois, patio seating of course. I’ve been disappointed twice on the main entree, the first time my steak was under cooked and the mashed potatoes were cold (they comped my meal, which is something I didn’t ask for but that’s understandable). The second time I had the smothered chicken and the chicken was very dry and the mashed potatoes didn’t taste fresh or they have been sitting for a while, on the bright side both times that I have gone the appetizers were amazing which was a calamari and sweet and spicy shrimp, but still tipped the servers generously. Might go back might not
I really enjoyed eating here and will dine here again. Id like to start off by saying that the reason i gave it a 5 star and not 4 is because of the great customer service. From front of the restaurant to the runner it was great! We had a party of three and each tried different items. I ordered the smothered chicken the flavor was very good the only downfall which was the downfall for my husbands meal as well was it was a little on the dry side. However they did provide us with a free desert to compensate. I loved the options of the salads with my meal. Kudos for that! Everything came out in a very timely manner. We would have liked to enjoy the patio seating but they said they were full however the same tables that were empty when we arrived were still empty when we left. No biggie just a disappointment. Overall great meal.
The entrees we awful.. Medium rare steak ordered was instead served well done. The baked potato was underdone. The fish of the fish and chip was burnt. The potato slices were oily and rubbery. The bread was hard and dry. It was a very disappointing experience.
Enjoyed my Steak and Grilled Vegetable skewers, baked potatoe and spinach salad! Delicious!!!
