Well my husband went to get 3 bags of coal today ,put down a liner in the boot of the car to prevent spillage of water out of the coal bags . Was that much water in the coal bags that it spilled over the liner onto the boot carpet. So rang to speak to someone in charge to complain but they were unavailable so spoke to a female and was told very abruptly what did I want them to do about . Rudly and aggressively was told I should have protected my car. Which I did but due to the volume of water this didn't work .told her I was going to have my car cleaned and told her I would send them the bill .once I said this she was very rude and aggressive again . Will not be using them again as poor customer service . Rude , selling coal that is very wet . So feel free to spend your money there as they don't give a toss

New gas stove and chimney lining installed in a day, great attention to detail. (Update: We've moved house since I posted this review, and Stead have completely renovated one fireplace with a multifuel stove for us already in the new place; we're now planning works on a second fireplace where a 30 year old gas fire inset has been removed in preparation for a new multi-fuel one).

Went today to look at log burning stoves the lady behind the counter was very nice and told us to look around, We had our 4 year old great grandson with us and he was good as gold, Ten minutes later a bloke came out and told us to stop him climbing on the fires and if we couldn't we should lock him in the car !!!!!! to say I was fuming is an understatement, to be honest if my husband hadn't told me to shut up when i said he had not climbed on anything and my 4 year old great grandson wasn't there I honestly don't know what I would have done he was just a nasty man

Arranged the exact fire to suit my fireplace with Lindsey, Nigel came and did a survey and a date was quickly booked. Super happy with the installation - just how a family firm should operate!

We have just had a new wood burner installed by steads. Everything from the initial conversation with Nigel to installation was an absolute pleasure. Nothing was too much trouble. For example, we needed our hearth stone cutting and setting, and a bit of rendering too, which they undertook and saved me the hassle of finding someone else to do it. The price was also great value for money. The lads who fitted the wood burner were friendly, efficient and covered up our sofas etc to prevent anything from getting dusty. They tidied up afterwards too. I felt I was dealing with a real family company, which is rare these days. The communication, service and price was great. Thank you Stead’s, Nigel and team, it really has been a pleasure to deal with you. We love our wood burner!
