One of my favourite restaurants. I tried most of the menu. The steak is killer. The best in Carleton Place and Ottawa area. All dishes are extremely tasty and well presented. Staff is friendly and atmosphere is welcoming. Best chef in town.

Got the buttermilk chicken tenders subbed regular fries with sweet potato fries today. The food was amazing! Order came with a couple different sauces on the side. Did not disappoint!!
Their crispy chicken sandwich and the buttermilk fried chicken tenders are my favourites, I love the 3 dipping sauces they give with the tenders. I really enjoyed the soup but we've bought here multiple time and I'm just not a big fan of their sides. The portions are small, I personally don't like their gravy and the caesar salad tastes like there's too much amchovy.
We have now ordered 2 special meals (Mother's Day and Thanksgiving) from Smith and Barrel and what can we say---WOW! Chef Jordan Forester is amazing! Both meals were incredibly delicious and beautifully executed/presented (even in take out containers!). The menu for both meals was exquisitely chosen and the flavours completely mindblowing! The staff during pickup was wonderful, polite and so gracious. Our bellies and hearts are full after a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend topped off by a delicious meal. You HAVE to support this incredible restaurant in Carleton Place.
We have come to this Restaurant since the first day it opened. During the first few months, they had the amazing problem of being too busy. This was a problem and the staff had a few issues. I can honestly tell you that the food has always been consistent & delicious. We are happy to say that they now have an amazing team of employees and they strive to please. We just love the food and the staff. We come to this restaurant at least once a month. Even our favourite Server, Leah, from another local restaurant now works here. You will always get a smile and a greeting from Leah, Steve, Chelsea & Chef. The Menu also changes all the time and the features are delicious. I have never had a bad meal here! Cheers to another amazing restaurant in Carleton Place. If you want a delicious meal served by friendly servers....this is your place.
