I feel like a scumbag poorly reviewing a church because the people were all very lovely and Pastor Joe seemed like a legit nice guy. The bands were talented and it was great to see people from all walks of life come together in unity and worship. We visited on Easter and a handful of times after because of some members of the community inviting us. They were not pushy and that experience was very positive. I also feel this church tries to do good in the community, which is a big plus. My issue was the sermon really pushed hard the "Christian persecution" myth that I feel is hurting modern evangelical Christianity. There was also a lot of "we have to defend that Jesus really existed!" stuff that wasn't particularly spiritual. I'd like to hope that someone who seems as educated as Joe knows how to do his research, and knows that faith doesn't need this level of defense, especially where there's parts that just straight aren't factual. Just don't bring that stuff up and focus on what really matters, what Jesus did for us and His love. Anyway, my two cents. It's a modern evangelical christian church. If you like that kind of stuff, this one seems like a pretty good one. It was not the particular flavor of Christianity I personally prefer.

Very real, honest, loving and safe place. My son and I have been going here for years, and we love it. There were some people there in the beginning that caused some trouble, but the Pastor has been amazing through it all. My son and I have found love and community there. We actually feel like family. There is a good diversity, as everyone is welcome and the sermons and lessons are absolutely biblical. If you want to hear the true Word Of God, find real fellowship, and Pastors who have an honest zeal and passion for Christ then come join us.

This is one of the best churches I have ever been to. Every time my wife ( Jillian ) and I have had the opportunity to worship here we have been blessed with the Holy Spirit touching our souls. Make sure to go a few minutes early because parking is getting harder and harder to find as the word of this wonderful place to worship gets out. Please if you get a chance to attend take it. You will not regret it.

My experience has been awesome here. There has been recent tension in the church but was happy to hear Pastor Joe had returned to teaching. He has been the best teacher of the Word I've seen. I will have to completely disagree with the 1 starred unsafe comment; There are churches out there that you should be more cautious with. (2 Timothy 4:3) I believe this church is blessed with Joe as our Pastor and God lighting the path. Nobody is perfect but the Pastor here is a Gem that should be treasured.

My family and I have gone to Calvary Mountain View church for nine years. We know Pastor Joe McCormick very well. He is a good, decent, honest, godly man. It is Gods will that Pastor Joe McCormick is the pastor of our church. Joe McCormick is spirit filled and his teachings are spirit lead. Thousands of people have been led to Christ through his teachings. If you're looking for a good Bible-based church, come to CMV.
