Amazing place to walk
Myself and a crew of 7 others drove to Calgary from Edmonton for work. We finished our shift and arrived at Hotel Alma at 6:30pm. Our employer had booked three rooms at Yamnuska Hall for a check in time of 3pm. On arrival we were told the rooms were not ready yet. We did not get our keys until 7pm, 4 hours later than the time when the rooms ought to have been ready. Hotel staff were not helpful. After speaking to both hotel managers via phone and email, neither was helpful. They tried to claim that the rooms had been ready and that the delay was because the rooms had not been paid for. This was false, as the credit card was on file, we had the confirmation emails, and the front desk staff had explicitly said the rooms were not ready and that we may end up being transferred. After multiple emails and phone calls, the only solution offered was to refund the parking cost to our employer (instead of offering a solution that affected the crew). More phone calls and emails after that, they extended our check out time by 1 hour. They communicated that they have no policies in place for check in delays. It shows. Their (both managers and front desk staff) handling of the situation was poor. Their (the managers) decision making in attempting a solution was ineffective. Their response time was slow and they did not follow up when they said they would. Beyond that, the rooms were very noisy. We could hear people having conversations in nearby rooms. Lots of slammed doors and people running and shouting in the halls. Not a good stay.
I work for service masters we are cleaning up water losses here
Very nice place to live, bedrooms furniture are really good! But has small living room space! (Specially in the case of 2 people room) It has multiple great lounges for students on each floor and even a small gym in the basement, but has no underground connection to move around campus on harsh winters.
This is where you will find the U of C welcome centre
More modern and convenient compared to the first year buildings that are offered on campus of UofC. However the one difference is that this building does not have the tunnel system. Also the community life here is almost nonexistent if you look at the first year dorms as comparison.
Very reasonable summer rates for single occupancy. Nice and quiet, clean, new but simple rooms with shared kitchenette and full washroom with shower. Breakfast's included...remember your own utensils; microwave and fridge...but no toaster or coffee maker. Close to Mac Hall and Yamnuska has a few ammenties (like Subway - lower level South Entrance). City Transit Circle routes 72, and 73 out the door with 2 city Ctrain stations within walking distance. Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent Hotel alternative for the price (40-60 Canadian Dollars/night; summer rate.)
