Very popular restaurant and beer garden in central Bucharest. Beautiful architecture. Lively. Some waiters and guests dance The place has a good vibe. Quality of cooking is good.

Enjoyed a fabulous meal at Caru cu Bere recently. The place, in Feb 21, is open with limited capacity due to covid restrictions but the service was anything but restricted. I'm not sure of the exact order as it was recommended and ordered by a native Romanian friend but the pork that arrived, and arrived very quickly (around five minutes) - was delicious. Basically a huge amount of meat on the bone, the crispiest crackling ever and a plethora of accompaniments like mămăligă, a richly seasoned baked bean based side, sauerkraut and grated horseradish. The food was delicious but, equally as important, piping hot on arrival. Huge portions and a doggy bag was required to take home half of the gigantic meal for two. Doggy bag was a good tough plastic platter. Aesthetically the place is gorgeous. Externally a beautiful old building with a well heated terrace out front. Internally a delight. Twisting spiral stairs, stained glass and stunning dark wood carvings everywhere. Absolutely gorgeous. Prices are ok. Cheap by standards of other countries and certainly worth the taste and atmosphere. The dish pictured and a couple of mojitos came in at 128 lei.

First visit to Bucharest and found this gem based on a recommendation. Great, hearty Romanian food and big beers. The interior of the restaurant is amazing (although no one can sit inside these days). The patio was well organized and warm in the cool evenings. I will definitely be back.

They have adapted quickly to the new situation. Smaller menu but, as always, best service, best food. Not to mention that now with maximum 30% capacity allowed by authorities, you literally have a lot of room to breath, much quieter and a lot of privacy.

Great food and very very tasty. Unfortunately nowadays they are open just until 10 PM, the only downside was that we found out this at 9:50.

The architecture is marvelous, and the history behind it amazing! The food it's served warm, with a good presentation and a delicious taste.

There is an outside area to eat (so you can visit as well during covid19) and it’s warm during winter (awesome heaters above the tables). The ribs and the beef&bean soup were very good. Nice and fast service. The inside looked so cool! The doughnuts are big portions so order 1 for 2 people otherwise it’s too much :)
