As an American my first and most intimate exposures to British culture were through my two years at this school and the relationships I made there. There’s no where I would have rather been. I learned a lot in a secular sense through the excellent group of teachers I had the opportunity of having. I also learned a lot about myself and about who I want to be. I met some of the most hard working and determined people in my life at this school, people who no thanks to their parents are motivated to do well and be their own person. I saw great transformation in people, how they expressed themselves, how they treated others, and took responsibility for their learning. And if you ask me it wasn’t the school or the organization it’s the people, teachers and students and what more could you ask for from a public school than for that kind of environment.

I enjoy most of the lessons at EP, but sometimes feel uncomfortable with the people in there. Sometimes I get into arguments with people for no reason or get called weird because of I am a bit hyper and can get angry easily. However, there’s nothing i can really do about that. I am stable with my grades and my friendships now so it’s better than it used to be. I has a nice building, the teachers are well taught and it’s probably better than some other schools.

I attended EP for years 11 and 12, having been brought up in the United States this was my first exposure to the UK school system. I had to complete my GCSEs in one year and received immense support to be able to do that ie. making up course work and catching up on a years worth of material I missed for not being around in year 10. Most of the teachers are wonderful and really care about their students and being educators. I decided to stay on for sixth form for a year before returning to the United States. It is a great institution, there are some characters but the good, hardworking, down to earth, loyal pupils and students alike outweigh the occasional fight or 'beef' but really you get that everywhere. The school has been know to have issues with bullying but even in my time there I saw a decline in it, things are getting better every year. There is something special about this school and I would recommend it to parents of year 7s and to people new to the area as a place where your children can grow and learn because the teachers care and they will be surrounded by humble selfless people. They will be taken care of. I went in scared and they had every reason to reject me because of my timidness and accent and religion but they took me and another new kid right in with open arms and to this day I know those kids would do anything to have my back even with 2000 miles and an ocean between us.
