Really great place to visit to learn about our natural surroundings in the Sonoran desert. Just 20 minutes north of Anthem. The learning center is well done and interesting. Then you can take a half-mile walk around the pond and stream, where you’ll see beautiful monarch butterflies and lots of bird life.

Hidden gem. Might not look like much from the highway but a great ecosystem, hiking trail and pond resides inside. Small, relies on donations and has a museum attached it is totally worth a stop.

It reminds me of my young life when we explored the old sites , Before they were destroyed by lower Forms life.

Lots to learn and see. I love the old town photos that are postcards. The guy who runs it (Mike) is an author that has a lot of info on the history of the small towns around the area. cleater, crown king, rock springs to name a few...

Nice little visitor center with walls filled with history of Black Canyon, friendly staff and helpful brochures for the attractions in and around Black Canyon.
