Do not be a member with beacon! They recently deposited money into my account by accident on the same day I was suppose to receive a check, which was about the same amount as the money deposited. I spent it thinking it was mine. They notified me DAYS later requesting me to pay it back. Me having no money to, also having bills to pay, I requested an extension or some kind of payment plan to correct it. Which I shouldnt have too because its their mistake! I wake up the next day and the moneys took out of not only my checking, but also my savings!!... I went in person to correct it and they basically say theres nothing they can do, and that i should receive a call from corporate the next day. The next day comes, no call is received by 430 so I called them. Its a automated message i have to go through menus just to speak to someone. I basically spend 30 min trying to reexplain everything which goes no where, other than that ill have to correct THEIR mistake. Ive been with beacon for over a year, and its been nothing but unexpected fees and headache. Will be switching and banking with Bank of America. Wouldnt recommend to anyone.

Paid off my car loan, so glad I don’t have to deal with ignorant, rude people anymore! Asked about my title transfer and the heavyweight woman who sits on the left side of the the office was rude and didn’t want to answer to my question. She was aggravated for some reason. I felt so uncomfortable and upset after I left, that had to call them and speak to the same woman to let her know how rude she was. Customer service 101 being taught by a customer.

After dealing with Beacon Credit Union with lackluster experiences for the last 8 months, I’m happy to wave goodbye! They took over the Danville City Employees’ Federal Credit Union portfolio and have absolutely failed at delivering anything that resembles customer service. Incompetent, robotic, halfhearted service reps and nickel and diming business practices are so last century. When I explained my concerns and asked the rep, Sarah, why I should consider staying, she could only speak to their “cheap” products (aka every credit union’s value proposition). These cheapskates forced me to send them a 0.68 check because they didn’t process my final payment in a timely manner (that’s right, they don’t “do” electronic payments, yet they will charge you 3 per month for a paper statement). Never felt so good to say farewell. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this hot mess express excuse of a financial institution. They get one star because zero isn’t an option. Bye, Felicia!
