My mom is remodeling her house in Utah and wanted a live edge slab for one of the rooms. So when she was in town last weekend we went by American wood importers to see what they had available. When we arrived the sign on the office said closed but the roll-up door was open. As she was only in town for the weekend we poked our head in the roll up door and asked if it would be possible to look around. DJ the gentleman working in the shop told us Mike the owner was running an errand but he would be happy to show us around. DJ was great, he gave us the quick tour to give us an idea of what they had. Then he asked us specifics about what we were looking for. After talking with my mom he knew just the right piece. Unfortunately getting the piece required him to re-arrange quite a bit of the stock in the shop, which he happily did all while explaining how they acquire their wood. When he got to the piece it was exactly what we were looking for. After finding the slab Mike returned to the shop and took us to his office, he went into more depth about the process by which they acquire their product. He then helped us with milling and finish options for the final product. All at very reasonable price. This review is lengthy but I was very impressed by both DJ and Mikes dedication to their client. It is rare to find this type of customer service anymore and just wanted to recognize both their efforts. I would highly recommend anyone in the market for wood for any project they have make this their first stop. Give Mike and DJ a chance to earn your business and you won’t be disappointed!
The American Wood Importers team is awesome! These guys know their stuff, and know customer service!! I had a slab shipped to Arizona, but I didn't have a place to put store it right away as I was in the middle of moving my shop. Luckily it was no problem for Mike. He set up a later shipping date and it arrived on time and more beautiful than I imagined!! I will definitely be doing more business with this company.
I would highly recommend coming here for all your epoxy and wood slab needs. I didn’t spend much time looking around but the variety I saw just in the time I was there was awesome! Mike and all of the staff were very welcoming and very friendly.
Spoke to mike about an online order. He was super helpful to make sure everything was right. This was my second order and I am totally happy with products and services. Will def use them again.
