Had a major overhaul on my car. I had been seriously ill and naturally the car was neglected while I recovered. Tony sorted it out and despite being an older car it runs like new. It's a pleasure to drive with total confidence in the workmanship. I cannot recommend this business highly enough.
Tony and his team of Mechanics are extremely competent and friendly as is their Reception staff. We have had a few services and work done on vehicles by the Athena crew and they certainly know their trade, and seem happy in their jobs, even when the pressure is on. Tony has years of top knowledge, and he always explains what they need to do and how they will do it in a respectfull and easy to understand way, we would recommend Tony and his team highly .
It pains me to leave this poor review. I really wanted to build a long term relationship with these guys. Unfortunately I am left with a bitter taste in my mouth. I was reccomended to Athena on the basis that they did a lot of Mercedes Sprinters for Ambulances etc. Our van had a limp mode issue and an abs / ESC issues that I have since discovered are very common on Mercedes Sprinters. Booked it in and was assured that the knew of the issues and how to repair. 2 weeks and 650 dollars later, we picked it up and drove no more than 5 klms only for all issues to reappear. They didn’t even test drive it. Took it back and was told they were very busy but would take any other look at it. The following 10 weeks were were frustrating to say the least. Never contacted unless I contacted them first.was repeatedly told they had other customer to look after and lots of excuses as to why it was taking so long. They didn’t seem to have any idea of how to repair, so we had to do our own research and make suggestions on what it might be, while they added a huge labour bill. Our research eventually discovered that leaking inlet manifold Is an extremely common problem and this was diagnosed by a friend of a friend mechanic in Melbourne who suggested what the problem was with out even looking at it. So all up we paid 7000 dollars and it took 10 weeks and the whole time we made to feel like we were burdening them. The receptionist needs to look for a new job by the way. Oh and we still have. The abs / esc light issue . As I said Tony it pains me to write this , but feel as though we treated extremely poorly by your company. I really wanted to be able to reccomend you and to be able to bring my van back for regular service ietc, but that now won’t be happening . I even have taken back reconditions I gave to friends early in the peice and they have gone elsewhere. So disappointed and we havnt had the chance to drive it anywhere yet. I hope it’s right.

Have known tony for a number of years and he has done great work on all my vehicles l fully recommend him to anyone who is looking for a mechanic and he works on all makes and models no job to big or small
——WARNING—— DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THIS MECHANIC! Tony is an absolute lier and thief at Athena Automatics. I can not stress enough do not take your car to him. I was having major issues with my car, one for which the engine light was on and the car was running poorly. I got recommended to take my car to him and did. Upon the first day of my car being there Tony went ahead and started Picking out other things that were supposed to be addressed rather then looking at the problem of why I brought my car in. Telling me it’s going to cost thousands of dollars as my car is in an unroadworthy state, after a bit of questioning I finally got to a conclusion with tony about the real problem with my car. I took his word and carried out some repairs to my car, keeping in mind these repairs carried out to 3000, after keeping my car for 2 and a 1/2 weeks I go to pick it up, upon collection tony was straight at the front door to address me with what he had done to my car. I was still overwhelmed with the price and he was constantly re assuring me that “he felt my pain”. Drove out the door and it was only a couple days later the engine light came back on, I rung Athena automatics and tony had refused to take my car back in for a second look as to why the engine light came back on. Furiously I took it to another mechanic and handed them my receipt to make sure the problem will be getting fixed, whilst I was waiting for the car they told me not even half the work that was supposed to be carried out on my car was even completed, and the engine light was a simple 74 fix. Do not take your car to Athena automatics with Tony, he Is a rip off and un loyal to the trade.
Excellent value, much cheaper than the main dealer. They got my car in quickly and did a great job. Much cheaper than my quote from Holden to fix my V8 Calais suspension problem.
