My brother and I found out about the passing of our father in Ashland, VA. Both of us live in different parts of the country. With so much to do from claiming of the remains, submitting DNA for positive identification and trying to find our father's belongings. We were overwhelmed to say the least. We stopped in to Nelsen Ashland and spoke with Scott without an appointment. He gave us information and asked us to come in the next day so we would get the attention we deserved. Scott called me an hour later and said he would meet with us personally the next morning. Scott and Nelsen's have been great, they got all of our questions answered, set up everything we needed and wanted for our Father and have always been there for us when a question has come up. I would recommend Scott and Nelsen to anyone without hesitation. My family is thankful that we stopped by and met Scott and Nelsen Ashland.

We’ve used Nelson in Ashland twice this year, unfortunately. My father in February 2020, and my mother December 2020. My parents had already bought their burial packages, but had decided to be cremated after buying the full burial package. They were incredibly helpful both times, and honest, letting us change the plan, because during Covid-19 we didn’t want the visitation like we’d originally planned. When we changed the arrangements, we received a refund shortly after all was settled. Just such a sweet experience. We worked with Taylor in February for my dad, then with Scott for my mom. Incredible customer service
Scott and Betty were amazing in helping me plan and deal with an incredibly tough loss. I cannot speak enough on how not only were they professional throughout, but also kind and helpful when I needed it most. I don't plan on arranging another funeral, but if I do, it would be here.
Our family has been using Nelsen Funeral for many years and every time is perfect. The staff is absolutely awesome especially Taylor can't even begin to say enough about this young man. Thank you so much!!
