Anthony Road was the first winery stop of the Finger Lakes. It was late so didn't do a tasting but went straight to the 2019 Vignoles (the BEST of the 3 vignoles tasted at other wineries on the trip). The property was beautiful (kinda wish it wasn't winter) and for the short time there, the service was great! Of course covid measures were fully observed

My daughter and I have made a point of visiting all the wineries on the west side of Seneca Lake. This review is specifically for Bravery 2017 Cab Franc. This wine which bears the subtitle, Celebrating the Hero in You, is a very special experience. While it's an easy pleasure to associate the wine, and the effort that went into its creation, with our veterans, it goes further - like most vets - by exemplifying excellence. The tasting starts with a berry-forward, black cherry greeting, rounded into pepper, followed by rich chocolate and coffee. It's a great wine for sharing over the holidays, gifting to someone special, or sharing over pizza, steak, or dessert. I do need to point out that you cannot taste this wine at Anthony Road, nor can you buy a glass; at this point you have to buy it on faith. This is something I hope they will correct soon. This wine is worthy.

This was the second of four wineries we visited. It was listed as tending toward more organic/natural practices. It does have an adorable, well-labeled garden out back with many food and pollinator plants and a charming grape arbor, but we were unable to discover any details of their growing practices because the server, though she said she had worked there for many years, did not know. We called ahead for a reservation and they had space for us immediately. The tasting room was gorgeous: a large, high-ceilinged space open to the outside. There were a few other occupied tables but they were far enough away and the space was open enough to the outside that we were comfortable in these times of COVID. They had a number of interesting flights as well. I chose one that showcased two grapes in different styles (Riesling and Gewurztraminer with and without skin contact and one barrel aged). Unfortunately the wines were undistinguished. One tasted strongly unpleasant to me. This was the only of the three natural wineries where we did not buy any bottles to take home. Still, there was a large selection and we tried only a few, so perhaps other of their wines are better. The experience itself was very pleasant, and I loved the garden, so I would consider giving them another chance, researching the wines beforehand to know which to choose.

Personally felt that this winery was more modern and less quaint compared to wineries I’ve typically visited. It is still a beautiful spot. I prefer choosing different types of wines to taste rather than choosing from a pre-existing bundle, but still a great tasting. Super clean, and super sweet staff!

Had a very lovely afternoon here with my Mom, sisters, and niece. They handled their tasting service very well amidst COVID regulations. I brought home a bottle of their Riesling. Very good wine! And scenery was beautiful to. My young niece had plenty of space to run around and explore their garden while we enjoyed our wine.
