John Hsieh reviewed Sushi Gen
After having tried some of the more renowned places the US (including those nearby in West LA), Sushi Gen is still our favorite place to get crazy fresh, high-quality fish at a very reasonable price. The wait is really only an issue for dinner if you're trying get a table with a large party. Otherwise, we usually get seated very quickly at the bar and service speed is phenomenal. During my latest visit, I was able to get through a 9-piece omakase in about 10 minutes. The entire meal took about 15 minutes from the time I entered the store. In all honesty, good sushi needs to be eaten quickly, or else getting up to room temp will greatly change the taste and texture. We stopped coming for lunch because it's just too insane. People literally line up an hour prior to opening. The lunch special is a ridiculously good deal if you don't mind the wait (or eating at like 3 in the afternoon). Lastly, validated parking is available and parking price is very cheap with validation.
Elana Belcher reviewed Tam's
If you grew up on the south side you know Tams WAS the spot. Was because the food was fresh and the food was amazing. I don’t know if the cook changed or what. But this is not the Chinese food I grew up loving. My most recent visit I am sorry to say will be my last. Multiple times leading up to this I have received old food and dirty old cooking grease tasting food. But worst of all was my last visit in which my food was burned, I called after I had gotten all the way home. They offered to refund or replace, only If I brought the rice back. I brought it back un ate and they took it back. Listen, THEY TOOK THAT RICE BACK FROM ME PLACING IT INSIDE THE WINDOW. We are in a pandemic if you have not noticed and taking food from any individual in a food establishment is against food handlers license. Also there are no social distancing placements outside, so people stand much to close to you. The guy did not apologize but kept asking what happened after I told him. He refunded me after accidentally charging my credit card again. Smh, Will never return nor recommend this place. Two stars to acknowledge how Tams used to taste.
Diego Gonzalez reviewed Nomura Sushi Restaurant
I was there in the afternoon. The bartender/day server named Braxton made me an Old Fashion and I asked to add simple (syrup) in it and it was damn near perfection! I also got The Kitchen Sink, it was pretty good, but I like my dressing and had to ask twice for more.
My boyfriend got the 3-way mac n cheese with pulled short rib on top, it’s good but VERY heavy.
Thank you so much see you next time
