I visited there with my family today for lunch around 1:15 pm. When we were almost done, my first son found a small round bandage for finger in his soup. We told the restaurant person showing the bandage without expressing any anger. They seemed to be sorry and actually said so sorry. But one of them took the bandage and treated like we were going to say something like we would not pay. We paid anyway and they received the money saying nothing, seemingly relieved. I felt insulted. Given the reputation of the restaurant, their reaction was ridiculous and disappointing. The soup was not bad, but I I would never visit there again.

This place is the bomb. They moved to this spot after many years at the original Dongkuk Steel building north of the river. You always pay as you go in and then you show your ticket stub to the servers. The food is clean and delicious and the quality has always been excellent. I recommend this place over the other 하동관s as the owners still hold down the fort here.
Gomtang (beef soup with rice) is the main dish served at this restaurant. It is apparently from North Korea. They also hae noodles and some other dishes and side dishes. Their wangmandu (king sized dumplings) was my favorite part of the meal.
It was packed with people from work during the lunch rush. They have a lot of seat even though there were many customers. Our food came out really quickly. The broth and meat were really good. Kimchi wasn't too spicy. I felt like this was a homestyle fast food restaurant.

Very traditional beef soup in S.Korea. The restaurant serves boild beef soup with steamed rice inside of soup, kimchi and green onion. The beef soup has been treated more than 48 hours by cheff who is in charge of this restaurant. Lots of foreigner visit this restaurnat. You can enjoy this hot soup. In addition, they serve steamed beef. This is good combination with drink such as soju.

The best of the best in Korea. Long history, keep the traditions and the real taste of Korean clean beef soup! I was here with my dad, and now I'm coming here with my son. But, if you like a nice service than taste, just go to other places with less taste.
