A fire temple, Agiary, Atashkadeh, Atashgah or Dar-e Mehr is the place of worship for the followers of Zoroastrianism, the ancient religion of Iran. In the Zoroastrian religion, fire, together with clean water, are agents of ritual purity. Taken photo was forbidden but we took it, hope not getting trouble in the future:)

I Love this Place. In its simplicity, recounts the story of an important Element, Fire, the Symbol of Zoroastrian Religion, the purest among God's creations, with its power of immediate transmuting everything it touches into a likeness of itself and for the flames that always tend upwards and symbolize our yearning for the Higher Life. Yazd Fire Temple is a must-visit in your travel to Persia. Take your time & enjoy your visit.

Unique presence considering its location. Surreal to watch the eternal flame through the display window. Learn the significance of this religion based on the simple principles of honesty and wisdom.

In the Zoroastrian believe, air, water, soil and fire are 4 holy elements. In a Fire Temple, Zoroastrian believers keep a fire burning all the time. They believe that when the fire would die something bad will happen. On the same location you also find a museum and a photogallery that give you some insight on Zoroastrianism.
