What a delightful zoo! It's perfect for families - big playground in the middle and it's possible to see all of the animals in one visit without feeling like you're hiking. There's a super collection of animals and the zoo grounds and enclosures are beautifully designed and well-kept. It's a bit pricey but not over-priced. The staff were always friendly. We've visited twice now and will happily return. Can only recommend it.

Overall a neat spot to bring your kids especially on mediocre day at the coast. It's about a 40 min drive from Lübeck and even closer from other popular areas in the Lübecker Bucht. Food options are very limited, but enough to get a quick bit or the obligatory ice cream. Better restaurants relatively close, though. Prices are fair.
