Was it as good as normal? I enjoyed my Italian rustica, but something was missing that I can't put my culinary finger on. I have only been to the Winchester branch, so I'm comparing to that. Mozzarella dotted around looked like the solid cube type. Perhaps, a little longer in the oven. Distribution of pepperoni or amount....oven not hot enough? Just can't put my finger on it. Wine was tip top in our estimation. Would I go back, probably yes.
We ate here tonight as a party of 3 and would highly recommend. The restaurant and staff are all very Covid aware. The food was great, we all enjoyed all of our meals and the staff were very helpful and friendly.
Restaurant coped very well with the high demand of Eat out to help Out, with staff showing no sign of stress and service delivered in a timely and friendly manner. Food was of above average quality. Very good pizza. Good calamari, though ordered the larger size and would have been disappointed if I’d have ordered it as a main - it was quite small. Venison and Boar tagliatelle dish had a great flavour, but was a little on the oily side with way too much tomato skin and way too low on the meat. Overall good. Wouldn’t rush back next week to pay full price, but would consider it for a decent quality high street Italian for a work gathering etc.
When we arrived to Zizzi we were promptly greeted. The staff were very accommodating when we asked if we could change tables, they moved us and made sure we were happy. Good range of food on offer, and the antipasto was delicious. Make sure to try the chilli oil that's on the table. The mains were good but there was a lot of pasta and dishes could have done with a little \zing\. Good value food. The restaurant was clean, cool, and airy. Overall an ok experience.
