Excellent food, service and mood. We enjoyed each of the pieces served. Still, price is a bit too high.

Again this would be a 4.5 but alas it can’t be done so more 4 than 5. Kaiseki cuisine is essentially what we know as a traditional Japanese multi course meal though in this instance at Zeniya, had adapted a modernness with its menu. I sometimes find kaiseki meals to be a little too bland for my liking but this was not the case here and every dish was well balanced and carefully put together to form a great meal! Here’s some of my favourites!

Decent meal and good service. Chef Shin Takagi, fluent in English explained every dish well and even performed \yukizuri\ on one of the dishes, demonstrating autumn seasonality, reminding of beautiful Kenrokuen and upcoming winter. #kanazawa #relaisetchateaux #michelinguide #zeniyakanazawa #shintakagi

The service was both friendly and of high quality and the simple settings gives this place its charms. I had quite some expectations coming here due to the price asked and the fame around its owner but I have been fairly disappointed by the food overall. A few dishes were truly delicious but in this range of restaurants everything should be of the same standards. Half the dishes ranged from uninteresting to simply bland. In a country that offers incredible quality even at modest prices this place seems overpriced and maybe overestimated. Their great hospitality makes for my 3 stars review but it definitely doesn’t deserve its two Michelin ones.

Zenichi Aida

At this restaurant, they always serve the best Japanese cuisine to suit the season. The chef is active internationally in order to have the world know about Japanese cuisine. I thinks this is one of the best japanese restaurant in Japan.
