York station,is just a great station to go to because, its just a magical place. The place is so busy, yet so friendly, as the staff, are extremely helpful and polite. The platforms, well marked out,and the information tannoy, can be easily heard, over the hussle and bussle of a busy station The toilets, are free and are spotlessly clean. The man who I often see busting away,is really great and always says hello. The other reason I like York is its history and the building is so grand and spacious, but it still copes with the 21st century. It's handy for buses,York Minster, the market National Railway Museum, and some marvellous pubs

Visit, even if you are not catching/meeting a train! This is one of the grand Victorian railway stations upon which no expense was spared when built and it is still sensitively maintained to a high standard. The train shed curves gently and the intricate ironwork must be studied as should the brickwork too. No-one would not find this great building fascinating. It could start a life-long interest in Victorian architecture!

An architecturally and culturally historic building that remains impressive to this day. Friendly staff and a straightforward layout serve their purposes just fine, although the station is in need of a bigger selection of food, drink and confectionary stores. Parking and drop off is also a challenge to say the least and can be stressful, although not much unlike the rest of the city centre.

Lovely station with beautiful architecture and plenty of cafes selling food and drink- there are also vending machines on one of the platforms. All the platforms are clearly labelled and announcements and displays help you to find your train easily. I enjoy traveling from this station. The station is also very easy to get to via bus or taxi so you won’t have to worry about getting stranded once you arrive.
