A lovely little pub with an impressive garden! The food was delicious (Cheese Ploughmans), the service was excellent. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Louth. Coronavirus guidance: I was asked to sanitise my hands upon entering, the majority of staff were wearing a face covering & there is a one in - one out policy when using the toilets.

At first sight this pub looked inviting, pleasant welcome by barmaid but landlady is rather more frosty in her manner. Doesn't seem to have many people skills considering she works in hospitality. I ordered the steak meal which sounded great on paper, but, alas when it appeared at the table it was so bland looking. No presentation at all, just steak, chips and peas. No, tomato or mushroom, not even salad garnish or sprig of parsley, which would have at least brightened the dull looking meal up. The wife had steak pie, which was nice. But the mash was instant potato...yuk!

Visited from Lincoln, had a walk round Hubbards Hills and dropped in for a pint. There's a good selection of beer, lager and cider. I had Adnams Ghost Ship, wife had Lowenbrau. We stayed for fish and chips. All was excellent, and at a good price. Staff were very welcoming, so a very pleasant experience all round. We look forward to our next visit.
