Can't complain at all the midwives were all lovely and knew what they were doing. We had a student midwife, under supervision, deliver our daughter, Laura (student midwife) stayed around most of the day chatting to us and keeping my partner calm. Thank you Laura.

The maternity service in East Lancashire is one of the largest in the Northwest and was awarded ‘Maternity service of the Year’ in 2016. The Neonatal Unit is one of two Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU) in Lancashire and South Cumbria providing 24 hour inpatient services for Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU), high dependency (HDU) and special care (SCBU) infants born at any stage during the pregnancy (gestation). The Neonatal Unit is in the Lancashire Women and Newborn Centre (LWNC) on the site of Burnley General Hospital in East Lancashire. This Unit (opened in 2011) is a purpose built, state of the art build, designed to the highest specifications in line with standards set by the British Association of Perinatal Medicine (BAPM). Simply the Best.
I gave birth here just yesterday, my midwife who helped me deliver was amazing and so kind. But as soon as I was put on the post natal ward I was treated unkindly by a couple staff, looked me up and down, talked to me in a very rude manner and made me feel like a burden.
Brilliant place, had my baby boy here in June 2011, I’d had my girl in Feb 2010 at Blackburn Royal and Omg what a difference, I’d had emergency c-sections both times but the care received at Burnley was So much better & cleaner hospital,
If you are pregnant get to this hospital! I have never ever ever met such respectful kind staff ever in my whole entire life, They have helped me so much, they have respected my needs and everything! The Midwife’s doctors Health care assistants domestic assistant nurses! I just want to thank them so much! They help out with the baby at night and let you sleep! HOW ARE THEY SO NICE! Am so amazed at how they went so far to help me :( I still cry of joy because they are everything you need when your in situations like this. I could of even done it without my husband with the staff at the hospital. Honestly I just want to rate this hospital 10/10 you are the bloody best! May God be with you all! Just remember you are doing such a great job! I LOVE YOU ALL! Thank you
