Had a booking for Christmas Afternoon Tea at the Coffee House for the weekend with a friend. Given that we are in a Tier 2 area we cannot go - the Coffee House's website even states you have to be from the same household or in a support bubble - of which we are neither. The Coffee House will not allow us to cancel our booking and have our deposit refunded. We are being told we have to purchase vouchers to go in future or one of us has to take someone from our household - which we cannot do. Whilst I understand this is a difficult time for the hospitality industry I feel that this is unacceptable customer service. We will not be re-booking the afternoon tea for here but will choose somewhere else instead.

Wow wow wow! This place is a hidden treasure! The afternoon tea was amazing. Every item was a taste sensation. The staff are welcoming and attentive. The manager showed us around including the orangerie and the beautiful garden at the back. We will definitely return!

Hi all as you all know experience counts in reviewing. A good welcome on arrival, shown to table, the servers were attentive, one of the improvements that could be made is, white gloves on serving food and drinks, adds a quality, to dinning. When clearing the table wait until people have finished eating, on that table. We had the Christmas lunch, well thought out and prepared, some silly mistakes were made and hopefully they will be corrected. The cost of lunch, if it was perfect then in my opinion a tad high, also service charge, these days I have found less places charging as unless you have a perfect service and 100% satisfied, leave it to the customer to decide on amount, though it is removed if asked . The lunch is different from other places, which is a good thing, not a place for young children , as this can upset the ambience. Overall a positive experience, well done to the chefs for their creation's.
