Good for getting to Liverpool, and to Crewe and Birmingham I'm sure. Could do with a bit of a revamp though.

Other then a bit more signage for which platform goes where, to make it a bit more clear, an ok station. Trains are usually on time or not to late and a great place to get to Crewe or Liverpool. A fair amount of parking and does have a bus route. A way out on either side of the platform. Indoor seating with a ticket collection machine.
This is now a regular part of my commute. Always friendly, helpful, cheerful staff in the ticket office. Access to the platforms (step-free) involves a 200-yard stroll around local roads. Usually clean. Plans (Aug2019) to introduce car park charging are awaiting a firm implementation date.
Friendly staff nice environment.
The only problem in the week is parking a lot seem to drive to the station and leave their cars the car park is always full
