A big thankyou to all the staff and management at the Windrose for making our wedding anniversary dinner so special today, those extra wee touches made all the difference and the staff were fantastic.

Family meal for 6. Varied menu and nice surroundings. Staff seemed very inexperienced. Service was very slow. Waited some time before a young girl came to take our drink order. Stared blankly at us. No personality. Waited again a long time before food order was taken and again while it arrived. Food good; except for Thai green curry which was very dry and chocolate torte which was very heavy. Trying to get staff to get a second drink was difficult. When we asked for the bill, the deposit we had paid 30, had not been deducted. Surely if it was policy to take a deposit in this climate, which I can understand, it should be common practice to ensure this is deducted from the bill? Menu a bit misleading. When you first look, you think a side and sauce is included in the price of the steak but it isn't. More training required for all front facing staff. Won't be rushing back
Ribs were nice. Corn needs some butter on it :D in general very nice place to visit.
We had lunch at the Windrose on Sunday afternoon, the member of staff that looked after us was great, very friendly and efficient. We didn't have starters but the mains and desert were excellent, in fact we'd a bit of a hard time choosing as all the food that went past the table looked great. Will definitely go again if ever back in Carrickfergus.
We met at a distance with relations. We all had meals which were very nice. I had battered haddock with chunky chips, a pea puree and tartare sauce. It was all well cooked and plenty of it. Very enjoyable experience for a first visit.
