Marwell zoo is a great place for all the family. There are lots of different animals to see. The tropical house is superb, the highlight being the sloth. Its great fun trying to find her amongst the trees. There are a variety of birds, fish, frogs and also pygmy marmosets in the tropical house. Season dependent, there are also lots of butterflies. As you leave the tropical house, by the exit there is a wonderful crocodile monitor who can usually be seen by the waters edge. An added bonus is how warm it is in there, a perfect escape from the cold weather in the winter. Outside the exit there is a place to refill your water bottle and plenty of places to sit down. The tropical house is always a highlight of our visits to Marwell.

We have a membership so visit at least once every 2 weeks. Even on a wet cold day it's great, the children get to burn off energy running around and playing in the lovely parks!.... Coffee is always hot and good
Within a hot interior this houses a number of birds, forest floor and aquatic creatures. You need to spend a little time searching for them but it's great to see creatures in a more natural habitat than the more conventional enclosures. There is also an alligator monitor lizard which is a rather fearsome, if shy, creature. Worth taking the diversion within the zoo. Some exhibits not working properly due to Covid hence 4 star.
Fantastic place. Given the current Covid situation, we felt very safe and enjoyed the visit. The zoo had put in place measures to keep visitors apart but was still able to see all animals.
Great family day out the staff could not of made it any easier for visitors ,food in the caff was very fresh and nice I will be going back again.
