Sonic Violins

Great to meet Richard, great place to try out violins, even tried some effects for the first time. Richard gave me some great tips on setting up my sound. A big thank you from me.

I now have 3 Sonic violins, including two 5-strings, all with Sonic pickups. They are all lovely violins, a pleasure to play both acoustically and plugged in. Titch spent a lot of effort making my new 5-string feel just like my first so I can move between them easily. Great service!

Hard to know where to start with this! I have a lovely violin now: beautifully set up, delightfully responsive - plays like a dream. Sounds good acoustically, or through an amp/PA. The others in the band love the way it sounds as much as I do! Titch was an absolute joy to meet - he made us feel welcome in his home, and discussed my intended usage of the instrument to make sure I would get the right instrument for me (giving us advice not only on how to get the best from it with the amplification equipment we use currently, but also on how to mic up my accordion!). He set up and electrified (is that the right word?!) a violin of my choice from his stock, especially to suit my needs and preferences: bridge cut to match the one I was used to - even put the jack socket on the \wrong\ side, as I requested! Couldn't recommend the guy more: he even offers a two-week trial period after purchase of standard-spec models to make sure you are really happy with your new instrument.

Titch comes highly recommended - not just by me, but by all his customers. And with good reason. Despite the lock down, he managed to source the necessary parts to turn my chosen violin in a Sonic Heritage and get it out to me super-fast. I've attached some photos of her, but they don't really do justice to the outstanding building quality and finish and can't convey the richness of her tone and the versatility of that transducer bridge pickup (so much better than any electric, solid body violin I've tried out). When the lock down is over, Sionnach (as I've name my new violin) will be accompanying me to all my gigs - whether or not I happen to playing fiddle at the time :) Thanks, Titch.
