I would like to share with you a little story, for which I am deeply grateful. At the beginning of May 2020, during the strict lockdown of COVID-19 pandemic, I really wanted to help. I wanted to do something to thank the NHS and all the essential key workers that despite the extreme situation had no choice but to keep going to work. This is when I came up with the idea to fundraise for a local charity. I choose Wimbledon Guild for many reasons, many of my friends had to reach out to them in moments of need, receiving great support and help. It is a local charity and I knew how active they are in the neighbourhood. It was only when I spoke to Adele from the charity, that I realised how kind and supportive Wimbledon Guild really is. My fundraising photographic project, raised more than 1,000 but I could not have done it without their support and guidance. Thank you Wimbledon Guild for all your help. A special mention to Adele, who helped me when I most needed and I’m so grateful that our paths crossed. This post COVID-19 are strange times but I will treasure the memory of cycling around my neighbourhood photographing residents on the doorsteps forever. Wimbledon Guild thank you for being so wonderfully resourceful and supportive. Please let me share some of the images of the ‘On My Doorstep Portrait’, this project has given me the focus to carry on during a very uncertain time. Paola xxx

What can I say about Wimbledon Guild except that if it wasn't for them and their sponsors I would now be sitting in an empty flat with nothing to cook on or have somewhere to keep my food chilled. They have helped me with both the gas cooker and fridge freezer for which I'm extremely grateful for. Thank You so much for your help and support. Bill Moylan

A lady called shindy talked my fiancee into applying for universal credit when she was on tax credit when she didn't know what she was doing , in January 2019. This resulted in Her losing over 100 a month and going without for over two months whilst the claim transferred. I do have to say a nice lady called Vanessa Did sort her out a 120 cash allowance and some food and a good voucher which helped . I'd rather we never stepped foot in the place it's caused us to lose more money that it's helped us with.

If at any point in time you get stuck financially, this is a charity that would help with any needs. They are passionate and supportive. They give out food, a token as well as food vouchers , all based on your needs. The lady I spoke to replied me as soon as she got message and had arrange with someone else to carry on if I came. They are genuine and empathetic.
